12 weeks left

What, 12 weeks left? In my head I tell myself we have 12 weeks left until baby boy #2 is born. This is because I delivered Jordan at 36 weeks. I still teach 1st grade full time. If I’m not teaching, I’m running errands, cleaning the house or chasing after Jordan, which means I’m on my feet all the time. I will officially be 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow, which means if baby boy #2 decides to come out the same time Jordan did, I will have 12 weeks to prepare the house and myself for his arrival.

I don’t know if we’re getting another baby shower or not. At first I didn’t want one. But then as I get closer to the end of this pregnancy, I realize that we need stuff and I want this baby to feel that he is as special as Jordan. He shouldn’t get any less just because he is the second boy, you know?

I took a picture of how big my tummy is with an iPhone, so people looking at this can guestimate how big my tummy is. I feel bigger than I ever was with Jordan, and heavier too. However, the baby is kicking a lot now, especially at night. He usually kicks on my left side. If he kicks any harder, it’s going to start hurting. Maybe he’ll play soccer?

12 weeks left. Names? We have one, but we’re not telling anybody. Jay & I want something to be a surprise once our 2nd boy is born. But I do realize with only 12 weeks left, this means I also only have 12 weeks left to spend as much quality time as I can with Jordan. It also means I have 12 weeks left to figure out how to put another crib in the boys’ room and install a closet organizer.

12 weeks left... and counting...
