The Crib

After searching at Babies R Us and Lullaby Lane, I finally chose the crib that I want for baby #2. It is the Bonavita Peyton Drop-Side Crib in Chestnut. I fell in love with it instantly! It has a drop side, which means one of the sides of the crib can be lowered to make it easier on my back to pick up the baby. We didn’t have this with Jordan and it was tough to get Jordan out of his crib when he didn’t know how to stand. I also love that it has a drawer beneath the crib. I’ll finally have a place to store all the bedding (for both Jordan & his brother). The only thing is that the crib is available at Lullaby Lane through special order, which means it takes anywhere from 6 - 12 weeks for delivery.

I know this crib is going to cost more than Jordan’s. I’ve seen the list price as $369.99, but I found a website that sells the crib for $319.99 (www.usababymn.com). Jordan’s crib was a Natural Americana Lifetime Crib from Babies R Us for $199.99. However, it didn’t have the drop side or the drawer, and the tallest height of the crib mattress was still so low that when Jordan was only 3 months old, I had to stand on my tip-toes and bend over to get Jordan out of his crib. We’ll see. I’m taking other stuff off the baby registry in hopes that family & friends will get together to pay for the crib. If not, I’m hoping for gift cards to help pay for the crib

I found this other drop side crib at Babies R Us (the Babi Italia Pinehurst Drop Side Crib in Tea Stain). It is $299.99. The only problem is that you have to get it from the store, not online. You also have to pick it up (unlike Lullaby Lane where you can pay for delivery). Lastly, the Pinehurst D/S Crib does not have the drawer on the bottom and the drop side is a little harder to drop than the Peyton D/S crib. For $20 more, I’d rather get the Bonavita Peyton crib.
